Curators and their backgrounds:

Patricia Lynch, Executive Director:

As head curator I have over 25 years of experience in programming, with expertise in creating signature series, producing and presenting theater, literary arts, contemporary, pop and new music, circus, and dance. I have had the mentorship of significant artists, deep experience with arts organizations, and interestingly enough, with corporations dealing with trend spotting and management. As a playwright I have won numerous awards, been published, and been produced in major theater centers around the country.

Thérèse LaGamma, Associate Curator, Live Performance

I have a background as a singer. Prior to coming to the Seacoast I worked at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston curating their eclectic concert series. Last year, I paid my own way to the World Music Exposition in Seville, Spain while wearing my curatorial hat. One of the highlights of the Festival was superstar performer and singer from Mali, Bassekou Kouyate and his band Ngoni Ba, on our stage April 1st.

Bill Pence, Film Curator along with his Telluride Festival partner and wife Stella Pence

Director of Sales, Janus Films 1965-78; Co-founder & co-director, Telluride Film Festival 1974-2006; Director of Film, Hopkins Center for the Arts, Dartmouth College 1983-present.

Margaret Talcott, Associate Producer, Writers on a New England Stage

Right out of Princeton I worked as a publicist at Scribners and Atheneum Publishers in New York. From there, I moved on to bigger jobs, taking turns as an editor at William Morrow and Atheneum, a ghostwriter, and a marketer and copywriter at Simon Schuster. I joined The Music Hall as Director of Marketing in 2003 and found my way back to books in 2005 when we launched Writers on a New England Stage. It’s very exciting to be back to my first love.

Chris Greiner, Associate Producer, Scene @ Five

I went to school for English Literature and Music and have been making music since I was 14. Most recently I’ve been playing drums in a band called Hateful Little Cakes and making music on my own under the name Northern. For the last few years I’ve been producing and promoting music and arts-related events around the Seacoast, and I’m one of the co-founders of the RPM Challenge.

Chris Curtis, Film Coordinator, Wildcard Series

I am approaching my fourth year as film series coordinator at The Music Hall. I’ve been an actor and singer-songwriter who has also composed music for stage and screen. I have been a movie-buff for as long as I can remember, with a particular interest in the obscure, independent and foreign and a keen appreciation of the art of filmmaking as well as the entertainment and storytelling value.
